Meet the Psychologist!

Hello! My name is Michaela Bedwell, I am a doctoral candidate in School Psychology and Clinical Counseling, which means I have completed all of my coursework and comprehensive exams and am now in the final stage of my Ph.D. program, conducting original research for my dissertation. Prior to psychology, I worked as an elementary school teacher for 4 years, while working towards my Ph.D.

My work involves conducting psychological and educational evaluations, identifying learning challenges or emotional and behavioral concerns, and developing evidence-based interventions that meet each student’s unique needs. I work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive learning environments, provide crisis intervention, and guide mental health initiatives.

I am passionate about building strong, collaborative relationships with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to create tailored interventions that promote academic success, emotional well-being, and social growth. My goal is to ensure every student has access to the resources, understanding, and support they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Working at Vista Peak has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I love the school’s strong sense of community, where staff, students, and families truly work together toward shared goals. I’m inspired daily by our students’ resilience, creativity, and determination, and I feel privileged to be part of their journey. Vista Peak’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and whole-child support makes it a place I am excited to be at every day.

Please feel free to contact me for any questions or needs.
