Meet the Teacher!

Jennifer Devoy

5th Grade Special Education Teacher

I began my teaching career at Vista Peak in January 2023 and feel honored to be part of this community. I bring with me many years of experience working with and supporting youth with special needs, a passion that has grown through both personal and professional experiences. My interest in education began early in life, inspired by a teacher who made a lasting impact on me. I later found my calling in special education when I saw the need for stronger support systems for students like my own children.

As a 5th grade teacher, I am deeply committed to helping students discover their potential and build confidence in a safe, supportive learning environment. While I enjoy teaching all subjects, my favorite areas to teach are reading and writing. I love seeing students grow into thoughtful readers and creative, capable writers.

One of my greatest hopes is that students leave my classroom with the understanding that their brains are like muscles—the more they challenge themselves and engage in learning, the more they are capable of achieving.

I also enjoy supporting students outside the classroom by attending their activities and events, when possible, with parent or guardian permission and presence. If your child would like me to attend an event, please feel free to email me!

Outside the classroom, I enjoy hiking, camping, and spending quality time with my family. I’m excited for all the learning and growth this school year brings and look forward to partnering with families to support every student’s success.
